Through our dedication, students achieve maximum success from beginning to end.
East Chicago Urban Enterprise Academy will utilize Core Knowledge, Open Court Reading, and Saxon Math as their base curriculum. This curriculum is utilized by American Quality Schools, the not-for-profit EMO in their other schools and been successful with the primarily at-risk, Hispanic and African-American students these schools serve.
SRA's Direct Instruction will be used with their students who are significantly below grade level. American Quality Schools has found that students in grades 3 and 4 who are reading well below grade level need a reading program that specifically meets their needs. This program is designed for students who have not learned in other programs and do not learn on their own.
Character education is an additional portion of their curriculum. The Academy recognizes that the ethical and moral development of its students is a critical and essential part of each child's education. Character Education will not be taught as a separate class in the early grades, but will permeate the classrooms and affect the entire school culture.
